The Tax Dodgers Database is an online resource for people who want to learn more about tax avoidance. It aims to open up an extremely complex issue in a way that is accessible to those unfamiliar with the subject. Following Starbucks' voluntary decision to pay £20 million to Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs in late 2012, the database is intent on naming and shaming other multinational companies who operate in the UK and yet avoid paying their fair share of tax, in the hope that they too will be shamed into coughing up the money that they owe to the United Kingdom.

TDDB also acts as a broad introduction to tax avoidance, documenting its causes, effects and possible alternatives.

It must be noted that tax avoidance is a completely legal practice. This website makes no claims as to the legality of the tax avoidance schemes undertaken by the companies it lists, it only seeks to highlight that they are essentially immoral.
